OBJECTIVES
The objective of the Fund is to mobilize financial resources and channel
them to communities with a view to financing community driven activities
geared towards combating environmental problems and hence improving the living
conditions of the people through improved environmental
conditions/atmosphere.
The fund will be specifically targeted to all environmentally impacted areas
in the Kilimanjaro Region. The objects for which the Trust Fund were established
are :
- to work, manage and control the environment towards preventing depletion of a natural resource base for enhancing sustainable socio-economic development.
- to develop the natural resource base by improving farming, grazing, mining and forest conservation techniques
- to initiate activities that will create/enhance sustainable environments for the socio-economic sectors, i.e. agriculture and livestock, mining, industry, health, water and natural resources.
- to enter into any arrangement with any person, group or association carrying on, or engaging in the safeguard or improvement of the environment.
- to support or aid persons, groups, associations indicating to directly benefit/improve the environment.

to remunerate any person,
group, association for services rendered or to be rendered in combating
environmental
degradation.
